About the role

The role is for a results-driven Marketing Specialist to accelerate its growth initiatives by driving engagement, boosting brand visibility, and expanding reach across key communities. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Head of Marketing to enhance existing strategies and implement new, high-impact tactics aimed at engaging researchers, raising awareness, and generating high-quality applications.

Excellent content creation skills are crucial, as the role involves crafting engaging materials for a variety of channels.

The ideal candidate will be based in London or within a commutable distance, with flexibility to work both from the office and remotely. However, applications from across the UK are warmly welcomed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Content & Brand Engagement

  • Responsible for creating compelling, conversion-focused content across multiple channels, including the website, email campaigns, social media platforms, and event materials.

  • Oversees the production and setup of event collateral—such as banners, merchandise, signage, and promotional assets—in collaboration with external designers.

  • Works closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and overall organisational objectives.

  • Keeps up to date with best practices in content marketing and implements innovative strategies to support exponential growth.

Growth & Lead Generation

  • Plans, executes, and manages large-scale, multi-channel campaigns in partnership with the Head of Marketing to significantly increase brand reach within target communities.

  • Optimises key marketing touchpoints and identifies new promotional opportunities across strategic channels, platforms, and partnerships.

  • Builds visibility within PhD networks, research groups, and academic communities to drive lead generation and increase pipeline growth through referrals.

  • Continuously refines campaigns using A/B testing, user feedback, segmentation analysis, and performance metrics.

  • Supports the promotion of recruitment and programme-related events to maximise attendance and engagement, and manages post-event activities such as follow-ups, feedback collection, and content repurposing.

  • Tracks, analyses, and reports on campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics, CRM systems, and social media analytics, providing actionable insights to improve lead generation, nurturing, and conversion efforts.

  • Presents campaign findings and strategic recommendations to the Head of Marketing and other key stakeholders to inform decision-making.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Carries out any other tasks deemed appropriate and within the individual's competencies.

Qualifications:

  • Holds an undergraduate degree with 3+ years of hands-on marketing experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrates a proven track record of independently managing and executing successful end-to-end campaigns, from strategy through to implementation.

  • Skilled at scaling outreach and generating high-quality inbound interest.

  • Possesses a strong understanding of digital and community-based growth strategies, with effective network-building abilities.

  • Brings a data-driven mindset, with the ability to experiment, analyse, and optimise marketing efforts.

  • Confident in reporting performance metrics, presenting insights, and recommending strategic improvements.

  • Experienced in crafting sharp, results-oriented content tailored to different audiences and channels.

  • Maintains a high level of attention to detail and demonstrates strong organisational capabilities.

  • Has a good eye for design and visual communication.

  • Proactive and adaptable team player, willing to contribute beyond core responsibilities in support of a small, collaborative team.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in marketing-led talent recruitment, ideally within an online programme, accelerator, or similar environment.

  • An interest in deeptech and research commercialisation, with an understanding of current trends and key industry conversations.

Benefits:

  • A friendly, open, and transparent workplace culture.

  • The opportunity to join a passionate, high-impact startup with proven traction and strong growth potential.

  • Access to company’s Deeptech Entrepreneurial Training Sessions for personal and professional development.

  • Flexible working hours and the option to work from home.
